AKE 81 - FACTS AND STATISTICS

Design work started in Feb. 81, programming ; in March, testing in mid-Aparil. Everyti~ing was operational by beginning of July. Operators were trained during July, cup finals were August 15th and 16th, for 3 hours each day.

(TP programs between 1500 – 2100 COBOL source lines)

60 (20 TP programs + 40 batch)

40 (including DDE format programs)

· ME29 – 35/2, 512 Mbyte

· 4 x MD5 20 disc drives ( 2 drives actually used)

· 1 x PBS 720 line printer

· 2 x matrix printers

· 24 x workstation

· 1 x 7502 remote terminal with 1 x VT and 1 x HCP

Project management design and programming (TP and batch):

Major obstacles:

· importing the ME29

· finding temporary locations

· moving and installing the machine 3 times

· a nasty software bug in TME

We had to Iearn how to:

· write COBOL programs (batch and TP)
(Mila and Milan knew how to write batch programs, other had not known even that)

· write MTS router

· use ME29

· use MAC

· use all rules for athletics

We started to work with stolen manuals, some of them were replaced with ones properly ordered, some are still missing.
