YOU COULD fry an egg . . . well almost. Though CP's are not designed for frying, our 1903A at IFIP Exhibition in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, demonstrated its ability to outperform its specification when, under the care of Ken Robinson and his staff, it kept going despite temperatures of over 30 C and humidity reaching 60 per cent plus.

It also survived a local power failure with no trouble.

Well to the fore, the combined ICL/Data Recording Instrument stand was the first encountered by visitors entering the exhibition.

Setting up and manning the stand was a joint operation with our Yugoslav agents INTEREXPORT-whose Director Stojanovic attended during the week. A sales team from Zagreb and Belgrade offices with INTEREXPORT's Vjeko Tomasic setting the pace, operated most effectively with the resident British staff.

Also on duty were four ICL systems engineers specialising in communications from our companies in France, Germany, Denmark and Holland who presented the demonstrations involving the four video terminals on the stand.

One of our users - Roy Sheehan from King's College Hospital - was present to talk about medical computing.

John Gore, of Data Recording, looked after the many inquiries received about their equipment on display. Stand manager was John Tutton, our resident teleprocessing consultant in Belgrade. Living up to the international in our name we answered queries in English, Slovene, French, German, Serbo / Croat, Persian, Dutch, Swedish, Hungarian, Japanese, Danish, Russian and Italian and also in that sub-set American.

In fact, many of the American visitors were particularly interested in our video-terminals and a great deal of interest was also shown in Data Recording's Model 31 exchangeable disc store.
